About

Hello, I'm Suzanne...

When my daughter - now in her 20s - faced a mental health crisis at 14, I didn't have the support, tools, or understanding I needed to help her through, or just as importantly, to help me through. I have navigated life-changing stress, trauma, and the relentless uncertainty of parenting through adversity and over the last decade, I’ve supported thousands of parents through the compassionate Partnering Approach and Parenting Mental Health.

In my book, Never Let Go, I shared the PMH Curve - which focused on the child’s journey. I developed The Parent Curve because I realised there is a very real need for a map that is all about you - the impacts, the natural responses, and the way through.

In this short video and accompanying companion guide, I’ll take you through the stages so many of us experience - with absolutely no judgement. We’ll explore how to recognise your own needs and meet them, offering practical steps to help you make sense of this time. My hope is that together, we can begin to set down the guilt, blame, and shame that so often become an ever-present heaviness in our lives when our child is struggling.

This is for you if...

  • You're exhausted and a bit lost...You’ve spent so long scanning your child for a hint of what's to come that you’ve forgotten how to scan yourself for your needs - and may wonder how it can change
  • You're searching for the 'fix'...you feel that if you can just find the right therapist or the right words, you can "solve" this - but the weight and guilt of that responsibility is crushing you and you are drowning
  • You feel so intertwined with your child's experience, you don't know where they stop and you begin...you’ve realised your mood is no longer your own so when your child has a bad day, you feel it beyond empathy
  • You want perspective, compassion, and an understanding of the reality of this very real impact - with absolutely no judgment on you or your child - plus ideas and perspectives to help you move forward in ways that don't drain you further.

“I was blown away by the insights of the Parent Curve. I thought I was the only one feeling like this! I thought I was just a rubbish mum and just wasn't up to the job. You have shown me that it's not personal - it's relational - and that gives me hope to be able to change how I am dealing with my child's mental health and be kinder to myself (work in progress!)”
